A May, 2019 graduate from Virginia Tech's Master of Arts in Communication program where, in addition to completing graduate coursework and my master's thesis, I worked as an Instructor of Public Speaking to undergraduate students. During my free time, I served as a student ambassador to the Virginia Tech Hokie Club during football, basketball, and baseball games and provided color commentary on men's and women's soccer broadcasts for the ACC Network.
Prior to my graduate studies, I majored in multimedia journalism and minored in business leadership, earning my degree in Communication from Virginia Tech in the Spring of 2017. During those four years, I represented the university as a member of the Virginia Tech Women's Soccer team and off of the field I was part of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, the IMG Student Broadcaster Program, and helped to lead Kindergarten to College tours on Virginia Tech's campus.
Currently, I serve as the Selection Program Coordinator for the Elite Clubs National League, the top youth soccer league in the country, headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, I work directly with the Events Director and the events team, performing day to day operational tasks focused on the coordination and management of the ECNL's Conference and National Selection Programs.
Highly social, humbly confident, quick witted, and a terror on all dance floors, I encapsulate everything it means to be unapologetically yourself. I'm a diehard Hokie, a fervent lover of bad reality TV, a sucker for thought provoking quotes, and I'm deeply passionate about Grease 2 being better than the original. I believe in marching only to the beat of your own drum and that a life of service is a life well lived. I stand firm in my belief that people are inherently good and that if you invest time and energy into others, they will do amazing things.
While I am always tuned in to the next NWSL, WSL, and NCAA women's soccer match, make no mistake, Saturdays in the fall are reserved for college football, nothing compares to a Sunday Jim Nantz PGA Tour call, and I'm always up for a little March Madness. In my short 25 years, I have found a deep and ever-growing passion in elevating women in sport and pushing the dialogue around how sport, gender, and media coexist. I look forward to continue working for organizations who allow me to tap into those passions relentlessly.
