Written over the course of my second year of graduate school, this thesis examined commentary provided by play-by-play and color broadcasters during FIFA World Cup and FIFA Women’s World Cup final matches to discover if the sex of the athlete competing impacted how often certain evaluation types occurred during game action.

 

My thesis was successfully defended in May of 2019 and was officially published to Virginia Tech's Electronic Theses and Dissertations website in June of 2019.
